Hansen Funeral Home Vermillion, SD & Irene, SD

Bob Hansen was born in Yankton, SD and raised in the Wakonda, SD and Irene, SD areas.  He graduated from Wakonda High School in 1985, and attended the University of South Dakota, graduating from the Mortuary Science program at Kansas City Kansas Community College in 1990. 

Bob is a third generation funeral director and grew up in a funeral service family.  During college, Bob worked at McGilley and Hoge and the Mount Moriah Funeral Chapels in the Kansas City area.  When he returned to South Dakota, he worked for the Barnett-Lewis Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, SD, before the Hansen Funeral Home in Vermillion was established.

Bob’s family includes his wife Beth, and their two daughters.

Bob is a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church, the Vermillion Girls Softball Association board, the South Dakota Funeral Director’s Association and the National Funeral Director’s Association as well as several philanthropic organizations.  Bob enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, traveling and spending time at the family’s lake cabin.
