Carol L Duncombe

On Wednesday, December 14, 2022, Carol Lee Duncombe passed away at age 75 in Vermillion, SD. Born to Pauline Marie Toshwak in Kodiak, Alaska on January 21, 1947, Carol was later adopted by Clyde and Edna Holden. She was a mother who loved her children fiercely, no matter how far apart. She saw much of the country having lived in Alaska, Rhode Island, Georgia, and South Dakota. 

Carol loved all animals, especially cats and dogs. She surrounded herself with her furry friends, even collecting stuffed animals when she could no longer care for her pets. As long as she was able, she always donated to animal shelters and humane societies. She is known for her big heart and infectious smile, as well as being headstrong and independent. 

Carol is survived by her children Jackie, Beth (Jodi Lee), and Jason; grandchildren David, Katrean, Brian, Joseph, Isaiah, Milo, Jacob, Darren, and Teonna; and great-grandchildren Hinata, Akihime, Tetsuo, William Luke, Matthew, Luke, Josiah, and Amihan. She is preceded in death by her parents, Pauline, Clyde, and Edna; husband Jimmy; daughter Jeraldine; and grandson Chris'sean. 

Carol wished to be cremated. Her ashes will be taken to Kodiak, Alaska by family. Instead of flowers, her family requests donations be made to the local humane society. There is no service scheduled at this time.
