Charles “Chuck” Stanley Browne, 66, of Vermillion, South Dakota passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022. Chuck was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on May 27, 1956, to Thomas and Nellie Browne. Chuck graduated from Lincoln High School and attended the University of South Dakota receiving his bachelor’s degree. He went on to serve in the finance industry for over 30 years, earning his ACA to become a certified collector. He proudly worked most of his career for Serv-a-Check and continuing his career at Innovative Financial Services, Inc. thereafter. Most recently working as the Store Manager at Casey’s in Yankton, South Dakota where he enjoyed the staff and customers day in and day out, anxiously waiting for retirement.

In Chuck’s younger years he most enjoyed racquetball, softball, NASCAR, Green Bay Packers, and the Twins, but occasionally would root for the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. What he is most known for is his endless love for his dogs (Penny, Bentley, and Eb); taking them on many trips to the river, walks to spirit mound and on countless car rides is where he found the most joy. He also enjoyed all the family get togethers, especially the summer barbeques with all his children and grandchildren of whom he was so proud of.

Chuck is survived by his 3 children, Shannon Meray Browne (Tabor, SD), Brett Daniel Browne (Vermillion, SD) and Katie Rose Browne (Overland Park, KS). He’s also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren; Gage, Shayleen, Masen, Gabrielle, Isabelle, Beverly, Steven, Emerson, Braeliegh and Bentley. Chuck was the 2nd of 4 children and survived by Susan (Ron) Alverson, Larry Browne and Sharon (Alan) Eighme, along with 6 nieces and 1 nephew (Keith, Kara, Melanie, Becky, Christy, Olivia, and Callie). He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Nellie (Rens) Browne. However, we cannot forget to mention his dogs Rudy, Jewel, Jack, Jazzbo.
