Marjorie Ann Christensen, 92, of Vermillion died Thursday December 12, at Welife Assisted Living Home in Elk Point SD. Funeral services will be December 23rd at 11:00 am at Concordia Lutheran Church in Vermillion SD with the Rev. Paul Albers officiating. Burial will be in the Bluff View Cemetery in Vermillion.
Marge was born July 21st, 1927 in Tyndall SD to Martin and Lillian Johnson. She graduated from Tyndall high school at 16 and then moved to Vermillion to work for Social Services Department. From there she went to work as an accountant for Thompson Lumber Company. she married Wesley John Christensen on December 14th in 1948. They farmed north of Vermillion and was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church.
She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary post 3061 a member of the legion aux post 44, she also served as a board member for the civic council, member and volunteered at the WH Over Museum and at the food pantry.
She is survived by a son and his wife Todd and Gail Christensen, a daughter and her husband Katherine and Lester Olson. Four grandchildren Wesley (Jess), Clinton, Alissa (Wade) McCombs and Angela (Daniel) Prendable. And 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter Kristine Christensen.
