Clark Larson, 70, of Meckling, South Dakota, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
Clark was born on November 11, 1955, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Clark Stanley "Toby" Larson and Harriet Helen (Hawkinson) Larson. He graduated from Vermillion High School in 1973. He grew up helping his dad at the family restaurant, Toby's Lounge, and later started his own trucking company with his two sons, who he loved very much.
Clark enjoyed golf, scenic motorcycle rides with his sons, riding side-by-sides, playing pool, and fixing and building things, especially for his sister Deb. He appreciated a good cigar and treasured time spent with family and friends, both at Toby's and at their shed. He was a man of few words, but when he spoke, it was something important. And if it was something funny, you would know before it left his lips, because he could never contain his smile and a good belly laugh. Above all, Clark loved his sons, Aaron and Michael, they were his pride and joy. That love also extended to Wade Larson, who was like a son to him.
Clark was preceded in death by his father, Clark Stanley "Toby" Larson, and his mother, Harriet Hawkinson.
He is survived by his stepmother, Miriam "Dolly" (Munsch) Larson of Meckling; his sons, Aaron (Shannon) Larson of Meckling and Michael (Tracy) Larson of Texas; his sisters, Deb Larson of Vermillion and Terry Yanak of Barstow, California; his brother, Scott Abbott of Yankton; his nieces, Dawn (David) Hartzler, Brandi (Matt) Jorgensen, Megan (Josh) Becker, Katie Abbott, and Madison (John) Hukabee; his nephew, Derek (Martha) Yanak; his dear friend Wade Larson, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family asks that donations be made to the Meckling cemetery.
