Clayton I. Hanson

     Clayton I. Hanson, 91, of Meckling, SD passed away Tuesday, November 29 at the Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton, SD.

     Clayton was born February 14, 1931, in Anthon, IA to Irving and Rossie (Reyman) Hanson.  He graduated from Meckling High School, served in the US Navy, and farmed in the Meckling area all his life.  He married LaVon Ryken on December 30, 1951, in Meckling, LaVon passed away in August of 2000.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, wife LaVon, brother Bub Hanson, and a granddaughter Laura Brunick.

     He is survived by his son Calvin (Mary) Hanson and a daughter Rena (Doug) Brunick all of Meckling, Grandchildren: Mike (Jenny) Hanson, Dave (Jenny) Hanson and Doug (Mandy) Hanson; Chad (Kara) Brunick; five great grandchildren: Kasey, Alexis, Karter, Madelyn and Charlotte, two brothers Marvin and Vern Hanson and a special friend Lois Eli.

     Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 3 at the Bergen Lutheran Church rural Meckling with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial of ashes will be in the Meckling Cemetery.  In Lieu of flowers please make donations to the Meckling Cemetery Association.
