Joyce Jane Davis (Stephenson)

Joyce J. Davis, 85, of Vermillion, SD passed away with her family by her side, Friday, February 21, 2020 at Sanford Vermillion Hospital.
Joyce Jane Stephenson was born December 16, 1934 in Vermillion, SD to George and Viva (Groves) Stephenson. She grew up in the Vermillion area and graduated from Meckling High School. Joyce worked in the banking industry for over 30 years in Sioux City and Vermillion. After her retirement she worked part time for Schoellerman Trucking in Vermillion.
Joyce enjoyed time with her grandchildren, bowling, camping, family gatherings, playing cards, bingo and occasional trips to the casinos. She also enjoyed taking vacations with family and friends. There were many fun times and trips in the Bus.
Joyce married Richard (Dick) Davis in South Sioux City, NE on June 21, 1954. To this union was born three children. Jeff (Michelle) Davis and children; Heather (Bill) Christensen, Jennifer (Sam) Kirsch, Shane Davis and step-children, Sarah, David (DJ), and Nick, Maralee (Greg) Onken and children; Alan (Danielle) Onken, Jared (Special Friend Kendra Dorn), Keith (Deb) Davis and children; Taylor Davis and Tessa (Andy) Bird. Also, great-grandchildren; Drake & Aiden Christensen, Orion, Zachary & Oliver Kirsch, Makenna & Katy Onken, Bowdy, Riggin & Cashtyn Bird, and step-grandchildren; Kirsten & Nora Taggert.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Richard (Dick) Davis, parents George & Viva Stephenson, brother Larry Stephenson, sister Janice Collins, parents-in-law; Clarence & Lillian Davis; 5 brothers-in-law, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren, five sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and many nieces & nephews and their families.
