Douglas Hammer

Doug Hammer, 65, of Vermillion, SD, passed away unexpectedly on 6/11/2025. He was born September 15, 1958. Doug was a loving husband, father, uncle, and grandfather. He was very passionate about family endeavors, fishing, camping, getting together and always looking for the best deal in anything he could get. He was a very selfless man, always willing to help when anyone would simply ask for it. He loved taking part in his grandchildren's activities, be it sports or concerts. Doug is survived by his wife Lori (Mortensen) Hammer, his children Kalli Walker, Paul(Jessica) and Aaron Hammer, Brothers Dan and Gaylen Hammer, Derald Hammer, Sister Francis, Grandchildren, Kenzi, Daisy, Jadah, and Xavier and many more nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Florence Hammer. In laws Larry and Gloria Mortensen and sister Audrey Prothero, brother Don and many more loved ones. He will always be remembered for his famous prank, "you dropped your pocket." A funeral Service will be held at 5pm on Friday July 11, at the Hansen Funeral Home in Vermillion SD.
