Ethel Sorensen, 91 of Irene, SD passed away Friday, October 24, 2025 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD.
Ethel was born on September 10, 1934 to Hennery and Agnes Morman. She was the youngest of the family. she had four older brothers; Howard, Earl, Ralph, and Dale.
She graduated from Gayville High School and went on to teach school in the Lesterville area. She married Glenmore Sorensen on June 20th, 1955. They lived in various places until they settled in the Irene area. They had three boys; Jerry, Gordon, and Kelly. Ethel went on to work at the State Hospital in Yankton, SD for many years, until her retirement. After her retirement, she resided in the rural Irene area.
Ethel loved having flowers and also loved to spend time playing cards. She also loved her little dog Teddy.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glenmore and two sons Jerry and Gordon.
Ethel is survived by one son Kelly of Irene, and one grandson Richard Sorensen of Wakonda.
