Gordon J " Gordy" Sorensen, a beloved member of the Irene community, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and laughter. Born to Ethel and Glenmore Sorensen in Yankton, South Dakota, in 1958, Gordy was a dedicated general contractor with a specialization in roofing and siding. He spent many years honing his craft.
Throughout his life, Gordy maintained strong ties to his roots, having attended Irene High School where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors. His warm and outgoing personality endeared him to many, and his great sense of humor never failed to bring joy to those around him.
In his leisure time, Gordy found solace in working on, polishing, and riding his many Harleys. His passion for these machines was evident to all who knew him and brought him immense joy. Enjoyed attending the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, with his friends.
Gordy will be deeply missed by his surviving family members including his son Richard Sorensen, mother Ethel, brother Kelly, special family members Jimmy Korslund, Ashtin and Nikyla,.
He is preceded in death by his father Glenmore, brother Jerome, and longtime girlfriend Kelly Korslund.
Gordy’s presence will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace knowing that he has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who loved him.
