Gregory Radigan

Gregory Jay Radigan, 72, of Vermillion, South Dakota, passed away peacefully surrounded by people he loved on September 3, 2026.

Gregg was born on February 21, 1954, in Vermillion to Bill and Susie Radigan. He grew up on Dakota Street with his ten siblings, creating the kind of childhood memories and family bonds that stayed with him throughout his life. He attended St. Agnes Catholic School and Church, but later joined his family at Trinity Lutheran Church. He graduated from Vermillion High School in 1972. He married the love of his life, Diana in 1973. Together, they shared 53 years of marriage, raising their family and building a life filled with love, laughter, adventure, and countless memories.

Gregg was a hardworking man who spent 37 years working for Dean Foods. His passion in life was hunting. Hunting was more than a hobby to him—it was something he shared with the people he loved and a source of some of his favorite memories. He especially enjoyed pheasant and deer hunting with family and treasured his adventures in Alaska. Gregg had a story for every hunt, and he could remember every detail. He loved nothing more than sitting down and telling those stories, reliving each moment with the same excitement and joy as if it had just happened.

Family adventures were just as important to Gregg. While raising his daughters, many weekends were spent at the lake boating, camping, and simply enjoying time together. He loved being outdoors and traveling to beautiful places where he could take in nature, watch wildlife, and appreciate the world around him.

Gregg was also a devoted University of South Dakota Coyote fan. He loved attending games and cheering on the Coyotes.

Above everything else, Gregg was a family man. His greatest joy was his wife, Diana, his two daughters, his five granddaughters, and his great-granddaughter. He loved being surrounded by his girls and took immense pride in watching each of them grow. He treasured the little moments, the family gatherings, the stories, and simply having his family nearby. His love for them was steady, unconditional, and at the heart of who he was.

Gregg is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Diana; daughter Dawn Clemens of Sioux Center, Iowa, and her daughters Abigail (Koleby) Van Beek, Hannah, and Ellie, and great-granddaughter Hazel Van Beek; and daughter Melanie (Tim) Rupp of Friendswood, Texas, and their daughters Julia and Jocelyn.

He is also survived by his siblings Suzanne Radigan, Dan (Missy) Radigan, Kelly Radigan, Laurie (Mike) Kruse, Carol (Mike) Burkes, and Jim Radigan, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Susie Radigan, and his brothers Bill, Randy, Jeff, and Steve Radigan.

He leaves behind a family who will carry his love and memory with them always. We will miss his stories and laughter, but most of all we will miss that big Irish smile.

His memorial service will be 10:30 AM Monday, September 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermillion. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 PM Sunday with a prayer service at 7 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church.
