Kyler Teske Memorial Service

Kyler Alexander Teske, beloved son of Kellan and Kelli Teske, passed away unexpectedly on February 10, 2024. A Memorial gathering will take place on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Spirit of Peace UCC in Sioux Falls, SD from 3:00-6:00PM with a brief prayer service beginning at 3:30PM.

Born on March 9, 2022, Kyler brought immense joy into the lives of all who knew him. His lively spirit, infectious smile, and captivating personality left a permanent mark on everyone he encountered. Kyler was a bundle of energy from the moment he entered this world. His enthusiasm was unparalleled, and his happiness radiated from within. Known by the nickname "Smyler," Kyler's chubby cheeks greeted each day with boundless joy.

Kyler excelled greatly in all facets of life, from crawling and straight to running was nothing short of delightful to witness for his loved ones. People would often remark on his exceptional arm strength, predicting a future as a baseball player. Another source of endless entertainment was observing Kyler discover his own hands, leaving everyone touched and amused. He inherited his mother's love of "The Wizard of Oz," and expressing goodnight to each character before bedtime became a cherished nightly routine. A trait that endeared Kyler to all was his frequent exchanges of "knucks" with anyone who would give him their attention. He loved watching Wheel of Fortune and always made sure to wave at Pat & Vanna. These simple gestures brought smiles to countless faces. He loved a game of Hide and Seek, as well as jumping and running back and forth wherever he could, and riding the elevators up and down with his grandpa Rocky, an experience they both cherished dearly. He also loved going to work with dad, absorbing every bit of knowledge he could.

True to his curious nature, Kyler had a fondness for bellybuttons and found great delight in exploring this quirky little feature on often unsuspecting friends and family. He also developed an unexpected passion for garbage cans and cleaning. Among Kyler's greatest sources of happiness were his dogs, AJ and Kona. Every night, he made sure to give them goodnight kisses. Another cherished possession was his stuffed cheetah.

Bright Steps Playcare held a special place in Kyler's heart. He loved his teachers and the friendships he formed there, especially with his "girlfriend" and forever valentine, Laine. Above all else, Kyler's deepest love was reserved for his mom and dad. They were the center of his universe, the providers of infinite hugs, laughter, and unparalleled love.

He is survived by his loving parents, Kelli and Kellan Teske (Sioux Falls). His grandparents Kim Johnston (Wakonda), Rocky Johnston (Yankton), Lisa Johnson (Fargo, ND), and Trent and Sydney Teske (Dallas, TX). Uncle Corey (Ariana) Johnston of Wakonda, SD. Aunt Nikki (Adam) Tyhurst of Mayer, MN, Uncle Chance Teske of Fargo, ND and cousins Miles, Kendall, Avery, Asher, Cash, Caden, Aubrielle, and Annalisa; many great aunts and uncles, and his teachers and friends at Bright Steps Playcare.

Preceding him in passing were his great grandparents Jan and Don Johnson, John and Burnette Teske, Joan and Lowell Rang, and Bill and LaDema Johnston.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Kyler Teske Memorial at any First Premier Bank. A portion of all donations made will be donated in Kyler’s name to Bright Steps Playcare.

May Kyler Teske's spirit live on in our hearts as we celebrate the joyous moments, he shared with us during his time here on Earth. In our grief, let us also find solace in the knowledge that his beautiful soul has found eternal peace. Kyler, may your smile forever brighten the heavens above, as it did our lives during your all too brief stay with us.
