Larry Wallace, at the age of 75, passed away at home surrounded by his family, on February 20th, 2023. Larry was born May 23, 1947, to Leon and Effie (Jensen) Wallace. He attended grade school in Parker and later moved to Canistota where he graduated from high school in 1965. He spent many years farming.
On September 27, 1975, he married Mary Dangel. In 1978 they bought the Hooker general store. There they raised their six children. Many years were spent remodeling the store into a home. They completed most of the work themselves with occasional help from friends and family. Larry enjoyed carpentry and was proud of their accomplishment. He also enjoyed tractors, farming, gardening, truck driving, and hanging out at the Little Denmark Club. Larry owned/operated Wallace Well Repair which included repairing wells and moving buildings. In the early 90's he began driving truck until he retired in 2019.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; children Sheila (Tim) Hatcher, Jennifer Wallace, Amber (Sheldon) Schipper, Kasey (Melissa) Wallace, Ashley Oliver (Travis) Nelson, and Lance Wallace; grandchildren Jayden and Chandler Wallace, Monica Eli (Travis), Shyla Schipper, Sam, Lizzy, and Luke Wallace, Jazmine Oliver, and Jerzee Nelson; brother Gene (Audrey) Andersen; brothers in law Rueben Wollman, Philip (Neoma) Dangel, Paul (Deb) Dangel, and Danny (Lynn) Dangel; sister in law Kathy (Gene) Larsen, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Louis and Agnes Dangel; sister Lois (Gerhard) Geiken); sisters in law Barb (Marlo) Schnider, Karon Barnhouse, Phyllis Wollman, brother in law Neil Dangel, nephews Kevin Wollman and Greg Andersen; great nephew Zavier Larsen.
