Lorraine Huth

Lorraine M. Huth, age 96, of Wakonda, SD passed away from natural causes at Wakonda Heritage Manor on March 24, 2024.

Lorraine was born April 23, 1927 to Harold and Svea (Johnson) Swanson of Dalesburg, SD. She attended Wakonda High School and graduated Valedictorian of her class in 1945.   Lorraine married Donald Huth on March 17, 1946 in Vermillion, SD. They returned after Don’s honorable discharge from the US Army to Wakonda and began farming.  Lorraine started her drapery business in 1963 and made custom drapes for Hatch Furniture in Yankton, Vermillion, and Sioux City.  After they retired, they moved to Beresford, SD for several years.   After Don’s passing in 2014, she moved back to Wakonda, SD.  

She is survived by her three children: Dan (Nancy) Huth; Jeanne (Ron) Nelsen; Mike (Sheila) Huth, six grandchildren and their spouses, twelve great-grandchildren, her sister, LeeAnn (Jim) Babb and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, and a brother.
