Michael Mahan, 65, of Sioux Falls, SD passed away Wednesday, December 10 at the Sunset Manor Nursing home in Irene, SD.
Michael Eugene Mahan was born on May 6, 1960, in Vermillion South Dakota to Eugene and Mary Lou Mahan.
He lived on the family farm where there were lots of family adventures. He met his best friend Gary Madsen in second grade, and they had many wonderful memories including cutting his sister’s hair. There were lots of activities wrestling, football ,4H, boating and many more.
After graduating from Vermillion High School in 1978 he went to Black Hills State where he played football and was called Cannon Ball. He also took a skiing class so, when he had time, he would be on the slopes probably missing some classes. After a few more Colleges he ended up getting a BS in computers at Westmar College in LeMars Iowa.
He had many jobs that he enjoyed but I think his favorite was teaching in Omaha community colleges where he taught computers. Throughout his life he loved photography where we have numerous black and white photos. He also loved a good chess game where he played for fun at Barns & Noble. He Love listening to Irish Music.
Christmas had a special place in his heart partially because he resembled Santa Clause. During this season he enjoyed handing out trinkets and gifts to children.
