Myron Glenn Zurcher

Myron Glenn Zurcher, 79, of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, surrounded by a room full of those who loved him dearly. 

Born on August 9, 1947, Myron grew up in Crofton, Nebraska, alongside his sister Stella. His life was defined by family, hard work, and an unmistakable joy that followed him everywhere he went.

 During his years in Sioux Falls, Myron met Cleo, and together they welcomed three daughters: Regina, Tina, and Lena. Later, he married again and lovingly raised five sons—Phillip, Glenn, Jake, Sydney, and Jeremy—while living in Yankton, SD.

 After life’s turns, Myron found his true soulmate, Darla, in Yankton. Their years together were filled with companionship, laughter, and deep devotion. 

Myron worked in many places over the course of his life, but his passion never changed—he loved cars. Whether fixing them, talking about them, or driving them with enthusiasm, cars were woven into the fabric of who he was. He also developed a love for the game of pool and could often be found at the pool hall. Myron enjoyed singing karaoke—music or no music—and brought joy and humor wherever he went. If you met him once, you remembered him forever. He lived by a simple belief: you only get one life, so hate no one and love everyone. 

Myron is survived by his sister Stella Pterka; daughters Tina Damm and Lena (Rick) Zwieg; and sons Phillip Hackworth, Glenn Zurcher, Jake Zurcher, Sydney Zurcher, and Jeremy (Amber) Zurcher. Grandchildren; Jennie (Jason) Penning, Karena (Adam) Damm, Sally (Matthew) Penning, Kylie (Anfernee) Chambers, Anastasia (Landon) Preston Boutchee, Layla Zurcher, Grant, Brett, Zach Zwieg, Tiana, Bianca, Ciara, and Lexi. Great‑Grandchildren; Jydin, Leilani, Asher, Saphira, Renley, Holden, Ameliah, Milo, and Armani. Also surviving are Nieces & Nephews, Peggy (Jeff) Bormann, Paul (Patty) Kasulka and Great‑Nieces & Great‑Nephews, Kaleb, Katrina, Tim, and Alexandria 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Matilda; his beloved Darla; and his daughter Gina.
