Nancy M. Hansen

Nancy Marie (Dahlin) Hansen, age 85 passed away peacefully on June 4th 2026 at Wakonda Heritage Nursing Home.

Nancy was born on December 2nd 1940 in Centerville, SD to Arthur and Mardell (Snoozy) Dahlin where she joined a sister Marjorie then later came along another sister Janet and a brother Donald. She grew up on a farm northeast of Centerville, SD.

Nancy later met the love of her life, Charles Hansen and they were married on March 14th, 1959 in Albert Lea Minnesota. To their marriage they had 3 children, Allen, Kirk and Colleen

Nancy and Charles were long time custodians at the Viborg School, they enjoyed taking fishing trips together. If anyone knew Nancy they would know that she loved her jewelry and in her spare time she would work on making new jewelry out of almost anything she could find (porcupine needles, pheasant feathers, etc.) but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be truly missed by so many.

Nancy is survived by her children Allen (Jenny Lathem) Hansen of Marietta Georgia, Kirk (Linda DeVries) Hansen of Viborg, SD and Colleen (Hansen) Olson. Grandchildren: Jeremy Olson, Jennifer (Randal) Miller, Christopher (Sam Lundie) Olson, Lacie Olson and Grace Hansen, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, her sister Janet (Bob) Breen, her brother Donald (Gerri) Dahlin and many nieces and nephews.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Charles Hansen, sister Marjorie Beohmer along with a niece and nephew. Parents Arthur and Mardell (Snoozy) Dahlin, her mother and father in law, Harvey and Myrtle (Peterson) Hansen, son in law Russell D. Olson, brother in law Merlyn Hansen and sister in law Marjorie (Jensen) Hansen and her brother in law Alvin Beohmer.

There will be a Celebration of Life for both Charles and Nancy on August 15th, 2026 at the DBS Hall in Viborg from 2pm - 4pm. Everyone is welcome to join us.
