Ronald Lee Sailors was born in Walthill, Nebraska, on February 8, 1936, and passed away peacefully at his home in Vermillion, South Dakota, on August 2, 2026.
Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, serving for three years, ten months, and two days, as he proudly told others. Following his military service, he enjoyed a long career with First National Bank, where he worked until his retirement.
Ronald enjoyed golfing, fishing, and painting. His greatest joy, however, was the time he spent with his family. He will be remembered for his kindness, strong work ethic, and the genuine care he showed to everyone he met.
Ronald is survived by his brother, Roger (Jane) Sailors; daughters, Jill (Bud) Cassell, Kelly (Bryan) Smith, and Rebecca (Craig) Ingram; sons, Pat (Brad) Sailors, Michael (Simone) Sailors, and Ryan (Carie Jo) Sailors; his sister-in-law, Ronnette Sailors; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, extended family, and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Faye Sailors; daughter, Mitzi (Clyde) Cross; son, Ron Sailors Jr.; and brother, Randy Sailors.
Ronald’s life was one of honor, dedication, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
