Terry Miles Amundsen

Terry Amundsen, age 63, of Vermillion, South Dakota, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at a Yankton hospital.

Terry was born on September 24, 1962, in Vermillion to O. A. "Gus" and Marlene (Christensen) Amundsen.

Terry graduated from Vermillion High School in 1981.  He enjoyed photography and studied it at the University of South Dakota.  He worked as a job coach for Sioux Vocation Services and helped manage rental properties for his mother.  He loved riding his motorcycle, building Legos, and watching his favorite shows, Star Trek and Jeopardy.  He enjoyed going to live music and caring for his loving daughter and granddaughter.

Terry is survived by his children, Joshua Amundsen, Jeremy Amundsen, and Abigail Amundsen; his brother, Ed Amundsen; granddaughters, Felicity Amundsen and Freya King; other loving family, Janet (Carl and Caroline) Towner, Jimmy (Alix and Henry) Waldner, Morgan Carda, Tiffany Dietschy, Kristine Wigton, Cameron Wigton, Tiffany Crowell, Cassy Crowell; and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Jeff Amundsen.

His funeral service will be 11:30 AM Saturday, January 24, at Hansen Funeral Home in Vermillion.  Visitation will begin one hour before the service.  A celebration of life will follow at the Eagles Club in Vermillion.
